Founded in 1964, the Church of the Resurrection is an Episcopal church which has communicated the Good News of Jesus Christ to the city of San Antonio for nearly 45 years.
We believe that God calls each of us by name to be a part of an exhilarating, intimate relationship with Him. We believe that part of God’s call to us is to reach out and minister to all who seek forgiveness, peace and growth in understanding Christ, His church and His People. We are committed to grow and nurture faithful stewards of God’s gifts through evangelizing, reconciling, teaching and serving in Christ’s name.
‘Resurrection’ is a diverse community in race, age, and occupation. We value this diversity and welcome people of every age and background to join us as we worship, serve, pray, and learn together. We are friendly, welcoming and care about each other’s welfare. We respond generously to special causes. We have an active parish life with a strong emphasis on mission and outreach. We are bible centered and family oriented.
As a people who have found joy in the Christian lifestyle and who want to make a difference in our surrounding community, we invite you to bring your spiritual journey to Resurrection. Share your gifts, your hopes, your doubts, your joys, and your questions. Located near Fort Sam Houston and Randolph Air Force base, we have a tradition steeped in the military and patriotism as well as the traditions of the Episcopal Church. We celebrate the Holy Eucharist in accordance with the traditions of the Episcopal Church. (Book of Common Prayer). We seek to be a Christ-centered people glorifying God in worship and by living as Christ taught us.
